Brandy began working in the developmental disabilities field in 2010 as a Direct Support Professional
(DSP). She held other positions such as Home Manager, Scheduler, and Program Coordinator. In 2015 she
graduated from Columbus State Community College with an associate degree in Mental
Health/Addiction Studies/Developmental Disabilities. Following graduation, she began working for an
agency in Franklin County in various administrative roles while also working directly in homes with
clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
In 2018, Brandy made a tough decision to step down from a position she loved to further her education.
She completed her internship at The Ohio State University Nisonger Center working closely with both the
Aspirations and A.C.E! programs. In May of 2020 she earned a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from
Capital University and in August 2020 she became a Licensed Social Worker. Brandy’s dream has always
been to start an agency where she can utilize the skills she has learned, both from experience and
education together to leave a positive footprint in the intellectual and developmental disabilities field.
Alicia spent almost a decade in the US Army, before finding the field of IDD. Then spent the last 10 years trying to encourage people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live their lives to the fullest. Working in various positions in the last 10 years, from Director to trainer to Direct Support Professional. Now she looks forward to working with Brandy to make Homes of Prosperity and Empowerment, LLC the go to provider for quality care and a quality career!
